| Gould
Allison
was born in La Jolla, California. He got a late start in the evolution
of his painting. Initially- his work was more expressionistic and
reflected traditional themes. This evolved into abstraction- a journey
from which he would never return to the former. From the beginning
intensity and vibrancy of color denoted his art. In earlier years
he was involved in many professional art organizations and exhibits
throughout Southern California. He took classes from prominent artist-teachers
in the area.
Gould
considers abstraction a "journey of exploration into the unknown"
incorporating the idea of cultivating the emergent. His more recent
work reflects optimism and, perhaps, goes in a more spiritual direction.
The images continue to be energetic and action oriented. His paintings
resound in a symphony of "hope" unfolding in freedom and discovery.
